2 Day Owl Workshop with Bryony Rose Jennings - 19th & 20th October 2024 10am-4pm

£250.00

This 2 day workshop offers you the opportunity to work alongside textile sculptor Bryony Rose Jennings to create your own textile Owl Sculpture.

Bryony describes her approach as building with textiles and sculpting with stitch.

In the workshop we start by creating a basic stuffed shape, adding wire to create legs and talons. We will explore a unique approach to sculpting with textiles, constructing a form, wrapping, layering, stuffing and sculpting with stitch.

As our owls take shape, the magic starts to happen, and a personality begins to emerge. You will be given lots of guidance to help you develop the character of your creature, suggesting expression using innovative techniques.

Fabric, Wire and all the necessary tools are provided, but it is always nice to bring along your own selection of treasured fabrics and objects to personalise your sculpture.

Owl creation is a fiddly business, and involves a lot of hand sewing - patience and perseverance will be necessary!

Students rarely fully complete their work within the duration of the course, but you will go home with a fully formed bird and the knowledge needed to finish your work at your own pace.
