Kawandi Table Runner - Sunday 27th October 9.30am

£75.00

Kawandi quilts, also known as Siddi quilts are made by the Siddi people of West India.

They have a unique construction starting with a base, a thin layer of wadding, and appliqué patches of fabric that start from the outside edge and work inwards to the centre. Running stitch is used to hold the patches in place and the edges of each patch are folded in.

You will make a panel, approximately A3 size, exploring this therapeutic slow hand stitched, slightly addictive method.

Materials not included.

You will need to bring:

100% Cotton Backing fabric - this could be a bit of old sheet, pillow case or calico as you won’t see any of it from the front, only on the back

A selection of scraps and off cuts of non stretchy cotton fabrics, a mix of small and large patterns, plains, stripes and checks. This is a great way of using up those small bits of fabric you have been hanging on to!

Please bring a thimble if you prefer to stitch with one.

We will have needles, pins and thread for you to use during the workshop.

Suitable for all levels.

Tutor: Christine Green

Class size: 10

Date: Sunday 27th October 2024, 9.30am - 3.30pm

Cancellation Policy

In booking a place on one of our classes you confirm that you have read and agree to all terms and conditions set out below.

All workshops must be paid in full at time of booking in order to secure your place.

All bookings are non-refundable and non-cancellable.  We will however, where we can, offer a store credit (redeemable on future classes or store goods) if you notify us no less than one calendar month before the scheduled workshop date. This store credit is valid for a period of 12 months from the date of issue. We are unable to make any exceptions to this policy, regardless of customer reason.

In order for a workshop to go ahead we require a minimum number of attendees due to the costs incurred by us in hiring tutors, purchasing class supplies/equipment etc...  If for any reason the class is cancelled by us (due to unforeseen circumstances) we will offer you a full refund or a place on the class the next time it is scheduled.  If you decide to move onto a future class our offer of a refund is withdrawn and these cancellation policies apply to the new booking (i.e. if you are subsequently unable to attend your new class date a refund does not apply).
