2 Day Mouse Workshop with Bryony Rose Jennings, Saturday 8th & Sunday 9th June 2024, 10am-4pm

£250.00

This 2 day workshop offers you the opportunity to work alongside textile sculptor Bryony Rose Jennings to create your own textile Mouse Sculpture.

Bryony describes her approach as building with textiles and sculpting with stitch.

Beginning with the creation of a basic stuffed shape, adding wire for limbs and digits. We explore a unique approach to sculpting with textiles, constructing a form, wrapping, layering, stuffing and sculpting with stitch.

As the mice take shape, the magic starts to happen, and a personality begins to emerge. You will be given lots of guidance to help you develop the character of

your mouse, suggesting expression using accessible sewing techniques. The finished sculptures will stand approximately 15-20cm tall.

Fabric, Wire and all the necessary tools are provided, but it is always nice to bring along your own selection of treasured fabrics and objects to personalise your sculpture.

Mouse creation is a fiddly business, and involves a lot of hand sewing - patience and perseverance is necessary!

Students rarely fully complete their work within the duration of the course, but you will go home with a fully formed animal and the knowledge needed to finish your work at your own pace.
