Come and learn the fundamentals of patchwork and quilting on this one day Quilted Heart Cushion workshop.
You will learn:
- how to use a quilting rule and rotary cutter to create perfectly cut squares.
- how to stitch them together to create perfect 2-at-a-time half square triangles (HSTs).
- how to join the HSTs with a perfect 1/4" seam, ensuring the corners match up perfectly.
- basic, straight line quilting.
- adding a simple envelope back.
The skills learnt in this day class are everything you need to get started on your quilting journey.
Materials are not included in the class fee so please bring along the following:
- Quilting cottons for cushion front and back.
- 2 x Fat 1/4 (we used one red and one pink print)
- 0.75m background fabric (we used cream)
- Cotton Fabric to back cushion front (24" x 24") - this fabric is on the inside of the cushion so a perfect way to use fabrics you no longer like.
- Wadding of your choice (24" x 24")
We'll provide white thread in the sewing machines - if you wish to use an alternative please bring it with you (or you can purchase on the day).

In booking a place on one of our classes you confirm that you have read and agree to all terms and conditions set out below.
All workshops must be paid in full at time of booking in order to secure your place.
All bookings are non-refundable and non-cancellable. We will however, where we can, offer a store credit (redeemable on future classes or store goods) if you notify us no less than one calendar month before the scheduled workshop date. This store credit is valid for a period of 12 months from the date of issue. We are unable to make any exceptions to this policy, regardless of customer reason.
In order for a workshop to go ahead we require a minimum number of attendees due to the costs incurred by us in hiring tutors, purchasing class supplies/equipment etc... If for any reason the class is cancelled by us (due to unforeseen circumstances) we will offer you a full refund or a place on the class the next time it is scheduled. If you decide to move onto a future class our offer of a refund is withdrawn and these cancellation policies apply to the new booking (i.e. if you are subsequently unable to attend your new class date a refund does not apply).
